Travel from sea level to 1500 m above where the lush green tea plantations welcome you. Munnar is a small town nestled among hills covered with tea estates. Take a walk between the short tea plants. Enjoy a cup of hot tea right where they are grown. See the Madupatti dam and enjoy a cool night.

Travel the winding narrow roads towards Periyar the tiger sanctuary. The artificial lake and its banks are home to many wild animals including tiger, bison, elephants etc. Enjoy a cool night in the midst of the forest.

An early morning boat ride on the lake could show you some elephants frolicking on the far banks. You could see the bison have a bath in the lakes cold waters. After the boat ride visit the local spice plantations. Kerala supplies some of the best spices from these hills to many parts of the world.

From the hills back to the plains for a night stay on the backwaters. Enjoy a night stay in a comfortably constructed houseboat. Have a taste of the typical Kerala cuisine. See the expert craftsmen construct a boat from wood. A rare experience for sure.

Have breakfast and leisurely cruise in the lake. Disembark and go the short distance by road to Mararikulam, the most scenic beach destination. Spend the night listening to the waves crash at the beach.
